Schauschau points the way: with an information and guidance system that highlights the museum-like character of Domäne Dahlem – an old country estate in the city of Berlin. 800 years of agricultural and food history combined with contemporary ecological issues – all this is on show in this outdoor museum. Agriculture and culture are brought together and create areas of overlap that are complemented in a discreet manner by the information signs and posts: nature, the seasons and the landscape become the objects that are exhibited. White background, black text: the artifact is low-key, as the focus here is on nature. At the same time, however, it directs our gaze and guides our attention between near and far – to help create a path that allows visitors to experience the site to the full.
